Mission MOM
“Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to pick MOM”
The mission came in loud and clear at 1715 hours. A quick call to Agent MB revealed that he was still at the mamak drinking his teh tarik *rolls eyes* So it was up to Agent PB and PE to accept it.
1720 hours - Dashed out to car in pouring rain and howling winds. Why can’t missions be done in better weather?!
1725 hours - Petrol light in car starts blinking on “Empty”
1740 hours - Hit the highway and see a long long queue of red tail-lights NOT moving!
1742 hours - Quick call to Agent MB to get his a$$ over to pick MOM.
1743 hours - Agent MB cannot get to car because of rain.
1745 hours - Traffic at stand-still. Diverted into Kenny Hills for a detour *gawks at beautiful bungalows*
1800 hours - Makes U-turn to try alternative route. Agent MB still stuck at mamak.
1810 hours - Agent MB out of mamak. Despatches Agent MB to head to MOM’s direction in case he can reach earlier than we can *petrol indicator still flashing madly*
1820 hours - Bad traffic everywhere, turn into Jalan Maarof, smack into a flood right in front of the cars. Calls Agent MB to warn of flood *petrol indicator still flashing*
1825 hours - Cars in other direction start reversing to allow cars in our lane to go against a small stretch of traffic to get to main road.
1826 hours - A big silver Mercedes turns into lane, right in front of our car, meeting us head-on *petrol indicator flashes*
1828 hours - Agent PE goes down to tell the driver the road ahead is flooded so he need to reverse. Is confronted by an old crabby man who only speaks Cantonese! Agent PE’s command of Cantonese is zilch and all she can tell him is “yao sui”
Waving hands and legs in an attempt to send message across does not work. This is a tough nut…
1830 hours - Merc man refuses to reverse. Other motorists try to explain situation to him. He grudgingly reverses and hits wheel on curb *petrol light flashing*
1832 hours - Merc man reverses and agents manage to get back on main road.
1835 hours - Tries alternative route to MOM.
1840 hours - Alternative route successful! Tells Agent MB no need to head over.
1842 hours - Picks MOM. Mission completed!
The agents’ reward: Hot dinner on a cold, blustery rainy day
- Ah…A Mall!
- 65 Hour Wait For 1,236 Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
- Little Venice
- A Marked Contrast
- Under The Radar

roflol! you forgot - the agents’ car was a super car - ran on empty till mission was accomplished
Pinkelle peeps: Ya super car alright! Was so scared we’ll have to get down and push in the pouring rain!
Haha, *CLAP**CLAP* This was more exciting than Mission:IMpossible III, and better edited anyway! Pity about the soundtrack, but then again, with the all-action scene happening so fast, nobody noticed it was missing, not did they have time to open their kacang either!
Pinkelle says: Hehe…this one no soundtrack unless you count the steady beat of the rain drumming on the windshield and the colourful curses from within!
Yao sui = swim lah PE
*got tummy cramps from ROTFLOL*
Best Monday joke award
Pinkelle says: Aiyoh…no wonder the old fella kept looking at me like I’ve lost my mind! Probably thought I was asking him to swim in the flood! Hahahaha..
Agreed with PB! Super car can run forever and ever with blinking petrol light… So you met the floods yesterday, huh?
Pinkelle says: Yes I did!
Were you caught too?
Thankfully no! I got home just before the skies opened and did their darndest. *grin*
Pinkelle says: Lucky you! In that kind of crazy weather, the best place to be is curled up in bed with a good book!
Pink fluff yao sui moment? Cham sui ;P
Pinkelle says: Thanks for a new word! *repeats to self* cham sui, cham sui…
Vet Surgeon’s Warning to the Malaysian Public: Do not ever attempt flooded waters on our roads, however shallow they may seem! Better safe and late than sorry, inconvenienced and broke!
Pinkelle says: Spoken from experience!
