Pinkelicious Pops #2

Welcome to the 2nd installment of Pinkelicious Pops, the random pinks and pops of PE’s life!

*****

Here’s an update on my little “ghost” in the stairwell. The other day, when running down the stairs as usual, I peeped carefully around the corner before opening the fire escape door and lo and behold! There lay a little pink “ghost”! It was the cleaner again, in a pink tudung, lying flat on her back on the landing as she texted out a message on her handphone! When I approached, she nonchalantly looked up from her handphone and coolly went back to texting! And the next day, I saw her lying there, deep in slumber! The management should give them a proper place to sit in…before there is a repeat ghostly incident!

Pinkelle says -Poor cleaners!

A little update too on my adopted dog, Biby. He’s looking much better and less scrawny now after all the scraps I save him plus the bag of dog food I got him. In fact, the family is so well-trained to save bones and scraps for my elusive adopted dog now, they automatically set aside their dinner scraps. Biby used to be really anxious for food and would start barking and whining the minute he saw my friend coming back but now that he knows he has a steady supply of food everyday, he’ll stand quietly waiting. I get bones too from my favourite lor bak teng kia man for a treat every now and then, especially when there’s been a heavy storm and poor Biby’s been out there weathering the cold and the rain.

Has it made a difference? Well, I know it’s definitely made a difference to Biby for the cost of less than RM1 a day for the dog food. However, recently the neighbour’s wife asked my friend if we were feeding her dog and thanked him. Later, he saw her putting out some food for Biby so I hope she starts taking better care of her poor little dog. Meanwhile though, Biby shall continue to remain my adopted dog!

Pinkelle says: Sponsoring Biby is like sponsoring a UN child except I can’t get letters from him! Only paw prints! Hehe….

The ancient Chinese came up with the intricate art of tai-chi but it took some modern people to perfect it. When I signed the dotted line that shackled me to my desk, I never thought couch potato me would have to be exercising everyday to the gentle and not-so-gentle movements of tai-chi! I have to bend and deflect to avoid responsibilities and work that are tai-chied over by the higher powers who can’t be bothered to do them or claim they don’t know how. Most times, being the minion, the tai-chi stops at me and I’ll need to pick up the pieces. I don’t like ranting about work but having to come in once at midnight till 1am just to format a document and bind copies, simply because the higher power stands there and claims he doesn’t know how is very frustrating and irritating. Perhaps it’s about time I put on Nikes and Just Do It!

Pinkelle says: I feel like Dobby, the house-elf *pulls on pillow case*

Just one more -ve chi….I HATE POTHOLES! The mind boggles why there can’t be a smooth stretch of roads from home to work or anywhere else. Why are there huge holes that give the worst kind of bone-rattling experience when I pay my taxes? Why are there bad roads that B O C O R just after they’re supposed to be newly tarred? Why do we have to put up with sub-standard contractors who do a terrible job on the roads while hoarding their money for their bungalows and big cars? Why do we have to put up with “Acts of God” from a certain ministry? Why do we have to spoil our car tyres?

Why why why?! *throws mini-skirts in a tantrum ala LB*

So to tourists, welcome to Kay El, beautiful city of lights and water. Just strap on your seatbelt and be prepared for a teeth-chattering experience over our bocor roads.

*Pinkelle slinks away to eat kali fan in ISA*

That’s all for today, folks. Too much ranting is bad for global warming but hey, I countered it with that +ve Biby chi! Till the next edition…

*Pinkelle floats off her soapbox with her pink parasol*

*echoes more B O C O R !* That, my friend, is free massage! Gotta make a positive spin!
Can’t spin anything about your pink ghost though! Make turn her into pink candy floss.
Midnight tai chi, eh? That jarred some memory cells! I vaguely remember being locked behind in the whole building once, and spent the night in there. Luckily I wasn’t alone. And it was rather good fun!
Biby sounds happy! You are so good.

PE says: Ah yes, positive thoughts *puts on +ve hat* I’ll think of you and massage everytime I trundle over a pothole now!
