What Will You Pay?

I recently noticed Jusco in Midvalley added a new section called “Japanese Fruits & Vegetables”. Wondering what the hype was all about, I went over to take a look and so, name me your price…what will you pay for fruits and vegetables that travel in first-class, air-conditioned jumbo jets?!

Whatever you name, I doubt it’ll be close to what Japanese here who want a taste of their home-grown products will have to shell out!

I really, really wonder what an RM149.90 melon would taste like! And no, not even for the sake of my blog will I shell out that amount of money to try it! ;)

give me that $149 and I’ll buy something that doesn’t rot in a few days… lol!

PE says: LOL! Shocking isn’t it?! Then again that melon’s ticket here was probably a lot more expensive than what mine would be!

I saw in Bangsar Village, a Japanese Fuji Apple for RM49.90.

PE says: I want to meet the person who buys it!

Hmm, were these fruits grown with gold-infused water or something like that?

PE says: I think they probably flew in on a private jet…after being watered with gold-infused water! I mean, how much nicer can a RM150 melon taste?! Then again, since I’m not willing to shell out money to try it, I better remain silent! Hehe..

I think Malaysians are paying for Japanese expensive labour for packaging and freight.

I will ask my friend how much a melon cost in Japan. :))

PE says: Welcome, Judy :) Yeah, I think not even the Japanese expatriates here dared to purchase those highly overpriced fruit! I wonder why they brought them in! I heard a melon in Japan can go into the hundreds of dollars…scary! :O
