Pinkelicious Pops #5

Gosh! Where has all the time gone! I opened my site and found that my last entry was on 30 August, just before the Golden Jubilee of our Independence Day! My apologies, I’ve been terribly busy at work and little celebrations and so here’s a little Pinkelicious Pop to update you on what I’ve been up to!

*****

My dearest Dad graduated from his degree course, straight all the way with no hitches at all! Waiting to hear his call to tell us his results was scarier than when I was waiting for my own! :P

He was and still is my pillar of support, the one I always turn to for advice and help and so it was only natural for us all to give him our greatest support throughout his entire course. And we’re all so proud that he’s made it! He’s gone on to do his professional papers which is simply amazing but he really enjoys it. If someone were to talk to me about doing further part-time study right now, I’ll probably cringe at that idea! :P

Pinkelle says - Hmm…maybe it’s time to start doing a postgraduate degree to keep Dad company during exam time!

*****

Dad’s success saw us trundling home two weekends in a row to “share” in the limelight and to partake in food, food and more food! :P From the sumptous 8-course dinner thrown by his friends to the party we reciprocated with in our house the weekend after, it was a truly gastronomic time! Not forgetting all the in-between eating of our childhood favourites.

My clothes are definitely feeling rather tight now and something tells me it’s time to start hitting the gym and getting some exercise again!

Pinkelle says - Need to find the willpower to exercise!

*****

It seems to be the season of babies! A friend I’ve known for many years just had her baby. It was the first time someone I knew well had a baby. I used to “chat” to her during her pregnancy and it was a real eye-opener to what an amazing experience it was, despite the difficulties that come with it. Yet another acquaintance delivered a few days later after she did, another friend is due in just a couple more months and a childhood friend is due in about 6 more months! Mr. Stork has been very busy indeed!

I never thought looking for a perfect baby and mommy gift could be so difficult! Blame it on my insistence in avoiding those readily packaged Anakku gift packs in an attempt to be a little more unique and different!

Pinkelle says - What do new mommies really want? Do let me know! :)

*****

Ramadhan or the fasting month is due to start this week! Yippee! That means, hopefully, being able to go home earlier, fewer jams because most people would be home early to break fast and best of all, Pasar Ramadhan! It also means that another public holiday is just around the corner! ;)

Speaking of fasting, isn’t it amazing to see how expensive the buka puasa buffets in the hotels are now? It used to start at approximately RM60+ to RM70+ for the better hotels but now it’s in the regions of RM100+! And the most incredible thing is that it is always fully booked, every night!

Pinkelle says - Hopefully sis and I will finally get a chance to visit the famous Pasar Ramadhan in Jln Tunku Abdul Rahman this year!

*****

And this ends a short edition of Pinkelicious Pops! I know I still owe GT a tag which I hope to get to soon! :P

Till next time, Happy Monday and Happy Ramadhan!

*Pinkelle floats off her soapbox with her pink parasol*
