Happy 2008

And so it comes again, a time to sit and reflect on the year that was. To think of the successes and mistakes, the tears and laughter and the memorable moments as yet another year passes us by.

It has been one roller coaster of a year for me. This year, I travelled to the most number of countries I’d ever travelled in my life - from exotic Kazakhstan to far flung London with stints to Beijing and Middle East in between. This was a year I found the courage to walk away from my comfort zone into a totally new zone where I’m still having trouble adjusting. It was a year of many highs and lows but I’m happy to say that this has been one year where I found happiness, both outside and inside as I started to understand myself better. And of course, a year where life-changing surprises came in a blue little box with a red ribbon (’cos it was Christmas, according to T&C!)

It was indeed a year of no regrets.

So, here’s to another wonderful year ahead for all of us! May it be filled with happiness, love, joy and laughter always to make it yet another memorable year! *clinks champagne glasses*

P/S Have you penned down those resolutions yet?! ;)

Withdrawal Symptoms

They say you never appreciate what you have till you lose it. Nothing sums this up better than my new company now.

I’m into my 4th day at work and am already getting Internet and Chat withdrawal syndromes! I never realised how good I had it in my previous company with super fast Internet speed from a special designated lease line and total freedom to surf everything and anything I wanted! I had every Chat program available from Skype to MSN Messenger and keeping in touch with friends and family was second nature. Planning for holidays was a breeze because I had the freedom to research everything and anything. I picked up so much information from all over the World Wide Web and actually progressed from a total techie idiot to a marginally better one, thanks to great sites like http://www.webhostingchoice.com which taught me webhosting in simply English!

Now, I can’t even change the settings in my Folder view because “I do not have privileges to change this. Please contact the system administrator” *wails*

I don’t even want to begin to think how useful the Internet would have been in helping me plan for that big day next year. Now, I actually have to work a full 10 hours a day without any blog break :P

So…

Goodbye MSN

Goodbye Yahoo Messenger

Goodbye cute Skype icons

Goodbye my favourite blogs which I started everyday with

Goodbye blogging during work breaks

*sob* It was great while it lasted! :-(

Weighing Up and Weighting Up!

The pink one has been MIA again! Ah…blame it on the festive season and the hopping on to that big shiny red and yellow bus! Yep, I’m still in my first week in the new company, thanks to the kind new boss who very generously gave me last Friday and Monday off because I had hopped onboard directly from my old job without a break. So how has it been?

Honestly, there have been some pros and cons.

Pros:

Cons:

I could think of lots more cons but…must.think.positive! I’ve gone from being someone in a small organization to now a nobody in a huge one. Was it the right move at this point of my life? I only hope it is! Hopefully I can still fit in my wedding planning and leave needs with my limited blogging time, internet time and leave! Thanks to GT for giving me a headstart with those lists! :) *hugs*

My blogging might be a little more sporadic from now on while I find my feet and try to stop myself from freaking out whenever I think of the huge task ahead of me for next year! :P If someone had told me that weddings came with lots of stress, spots and astronomical costs, I would have seriously considered eloping and having a nice little private ceremony on a beautiful Bali beach! Ah, one can but dream! ;)

Till next time, have a very Merry Christmas and all the very best for a wonderful 2008 ahead! Have you made your New Year resolutions? No prizes for guessing what mine are after all that festive feasting! *groan*
